Charles Dehner married Mrs. Anna Essig 23 June 1895 in Adams county Illinois.
Lived for a while in Kansas City Missouri as well as Oklahoma. A haunted house may have spurred the move. There was an article in June of 1898 about mysterious knocks, and activities, at the Dehner residence, at 1128 Broadway.
Actually Mr. Dehner traveled before that time; in March of 1898 he took a trip to Seattle Washington as well as Alaska. His travels and moves seemed business related.

George Meckes, formerly with J. A. Siepker, and Charles Dehner, formerly with "Cornie" Womelsdorf, have taken charge of the Occidental saloon, and will make of it a first class resort. Both have many warm friends, and they will no doubt make a success of their business.

Charles Dehner, the upholsterer, who recently returned from Oklahoma after successfully following his trade there for several years, amassing a competency, finds time hanging too heavily on his hands with nothing to do.
He has bought for $3000.00 cash the building at 831 Maine street, occupied by Roy Heimbuch as a produce store, and in it, will open a shop similar to the one he conducted in the same block, up to the time he left for the southwest.

Charles Dehner, upholsterer, living in the 800 block on Maine street, suffered a stroke of paralysis the other day, and his condition since then has shown no signs of improvement. His three married daughters, all of Kansas City [Missouri], have been summoned home.
