He returned to Fremont and worked for Valley Manufacturing Co. in Valley. He married Doris Schulte in 1949 in Fremont. The couple lived in Fremont until moving to Grand island in 1963. He worked for Midwest Heating and Cooling and later for McElroy Service Co.
He was survived by his wife, a son Michael, two daughters, Sandra and Barbara, and two brothers, Robert and Donald, both of Fremont.
