James David Bailey, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away August 18, 2017, at the age of 66. He was born July 21, 1951, in Oklahoma City, to Donald E. “Gene” and Thelma M. (Garmon) Bailey. James was one of 17 children. He worked at Freddie’s Tires for over 30 years as a mechanic and tireman. James was a great mechanic and helped a lot of people with their cars. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an outdoor man. James also enjoyed watching car racing and when he was growing up, he raced street cars himself. James is survived by his wife, Roberta Bailey; son, David Nathaniel “Nathan” Bailey; ex-wife and caretaker, Suzie Staley; siblings, Donald Bailey, Kenneth Bailey, Jerry Bailey, Sandra Bothe, Katherine Garner, Barbara Bailey, Gordon Bailey, Nedra Harrison, Chris Bailey, Alan Bailey, and Jannette Byars; several nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gene & Thelma Bailey; siblings, Jeannie Jones, Robert Bailey, Lonnie Bailey, Ronnie Bailey, and Rodger Bailey. Funeral Services for James will be held at 6:00 PM, Friday, August 25, 2017, in the chapel of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.
