Ephraim Joseph Disher (or Joseph Ephraim Disher?) was the only known child of Matthias Discher/Disher (b. 1810 in NC; d. p1870 at Midway Township, Davidson Co., NC; possibly died 25 Sep 1879) and Maria Christiana Walk Disher (1812-1839), who married 17 Apr 1834 at Davidson County, North Carolina. After Maria died Mathias remarried to Louisa Caroline McQueen on 11 Feb 1840 at Davidson County, North Carolina.
Ephraim married Sarah Ann Evans (1837-1904) on 05 Jul 1859 at Davidson County, North Carolina. Ephraim and Sarah were the parents of eight known children, five boys and three girls, namely:
1. Cicero Disher (1856-???)
2. James Theodore Disher (1859-1936)
3. Michael Curtis Disher (1861-1920)
4. Phoebe Disher Charles (1864-1934)
5. Addison Eugene Disher (1866-1926)
6. Mary Lenora S. Disher Hartman (1869-1946)
7. Elizabeth Disher (1873-???)
8. Charles Disher (1877-???)
