Born about 1665 in New York, New York.
Geertruyd may have born on 11 Apr 1662 in Long Island, New York, or perhaps about 1665. She was the child of Dirck van der Vliet and Geertgen Gerrits.
She is the last of the children named in her parents' joint will, suggesting that she was the youngest. The will, dated 15 January 1679/80, lists the four children of testators as Jan, Hendrick, Mary and Geertruyt.
