He was a Belgian violinist. Martin-Pierre Marsick died in Paris. On the 27th his funeral took place at the Basilica of St. Martin, in Liège, the same place where he had been baptized seventy-seven years earlier. During the funeral mass is performed an Ave Maria which he composed exactly two months before his death and which bears the inscription " To sing to the Church at my funeral ". Curiously, in the last years of his life, Martin-Pierre, who had often denigrated his native land, eagerly wanted to return. His wish was granted and after the usual speeches, his body was handed over to the town of Liège.
