Kurt Hans Volk, nationally known typographer employed at N.W. Ayer & Son's for many years, died Sunday at his home in Hollywood, Florida. He was chairman of the board of Kurt H. Volk, Inc. of New York, founded by him in 1927.
Mr Volk was reknowned for his typographic works of art and was a frequent lecturer on advertising typography.
Born in Germany, he came to the United States in 1900 and was in charge of plant operations for the Ayer firm before founding the New York Company.
He is survived by his son Kurt and a daughter.
