Memorial Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Leander L. “Lenny” Proell, 90, of St. Cloud will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017 at St. Mary’s Cathedral Lower Church in St. Cloud.  Lenny passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Country Manor Senior Care Center in Sartell.   Inurnment  will be in Calvary Cemetery, St. Cloud. 
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday  at the church.
Lenny was born on October 8, 1926 in Melrose, Minnesota to the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Schurmann) Proell.  He served in the US Navy during WWII on the USS Greenwich Bay.  He married Anna Marie Primus on November 7, 1950 at St. Mary’s Cathedral and they lived all of their married lives in St. Cloud.  Lenny was employed as a Railway Clerk for Burlington Northern for 42 years, retiring in 1984.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral and a lifetime member of the St. Cloud Veterans of Foreign Wars Granite Post #428. 
Lenny enjoyed walking in the hills and woods at St. John’s, western movies, riding bike, dirt track racing for 60 years and collecting DVD’s.
He is survived by his children, Patty (Scott) Roshaven of St. Cloud, Tony (Mary) of Sartell, Brian of Savage; grandchildren, Erin, Amie, Lindsay, Tara, Austin, Rory and Shannon; eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie in 2012; and siblings, Arnold, Ray, Richard, Al, Alma Gratzak, Marie Moening, Kathryn Borgmann, Laura Proell, Herbert and Doris McCloud.
