KOONTZ LAKE-Garnett Marie Porter, 77, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Pilgrim Manor, Plymouth, IN.
Garnett was born April 9, 1940 in Tuscola, IL to Louis and Mary (Tatham) Wengler and lived in the area for 25 years, coming from Hammond. She married Darrell S. Porter, who preceded her in death in 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one great-grandson.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Wayne Fonner of Delphi, IN and Anthony (Linda) Porter of Walkerton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Christine Heasley and Lois Wilson, both of Illinois; and brother, Rudy Wengler of Michigan.
Garnett was retired from the US Postal Service in Hammond. She was a lifetime member of both the Walkerton American Legion Auxiliary and the North Liberty VFW Auxiliary.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. There will be no funeral service. Cremation will follow.
