Victor Record 1924

Herbert John Blome, son of Mrs. John Blome living north of Victor, died at his home Wednesday, April 30, at 2:30 p.m. after a short illness. He was born Nov. 29, 1911, and would have been 13 years old this coming November.

As a student in the seventh grade of the Victor public school it was not his bent to acquire knowledge with ease, but he was very thorough in all that he put himself to. His pronounced pleasantness of manner gained him the good will of all his associates. The daily tasks assigned to him about the house place were taken in hand by him; willingly and industriously, to the satisfaction of all concerned.

Herbert was a steady attendant at the Victor Baptist Sunday School and church. No double what he learned there about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ stood him good, especially in the dying hour. That dear Herbert will be keenly missed by all who cherished him is self understood. His permanent departure from among us ought to spur us who remain to live well in order to die well. An experimental knowledge of Christ Jesus is the key to such an endeavor.

Herbert is survived by his mother, his brother, Arthur, and his sisters, Freda and Doris.
