This surname is spelled both ways...HEDRICK & HEADRICK. Because his (& wife & 2 daughters)tombstone's name is spelled HEDRICK, that's the way I listed him. Alfred was the son of Adam (1788-1826) & Elizabeth Sowers (1789-1856) Hedrick from Silver Hill, NC. He married Elizabeth Goss and their children were: Cicero P. (1850-1899); Jesse M. (1852-1926); Susannah Margaret(Susie)(1854-); Catharine Christian (1857-1931); Mary Elizabeth (1859-). Three of the five children are buried in the Anutt Cemetery; the other two--Jesse & Catherine are buried in OK and KS, respectively. Alfred moved from NC with his family to Dent Co. in 1874 and became Postmaster at Taladego, near Anutt, in 1882.
