Anthony John Lee Bowes, Son of Tom Armstrong Bowes and Gertrude Ann Bowes, of Herne Bay, Kent. B.A. (Oxon). Anthony was served with the RAF in WWII and lost his life when his plane, Stirling W7580 149 Squadron crashed at 'Den Hanenberg' pub at Geffen, Noord-Brabant Holland....

Homeward-bound, the aircraft was shot down by night fighter pilot Unteroffizier Heinz Oloff of the 3./NJG 1, who was flying Bf 110 G9+AL from Venlo airfield - (claim) 13km NE of 's Hertogenbosch. This was the first victory of Oloff..
