Ervin was born to Herman Carl and Bertha Reinke Symank and the family moved to Austin when Ervin was six months old. He lived in Austin until his retirement.
Ervin was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael; sister, Bernice Symank Kissman and brother, Bill.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Frances King Symank; son, Alan and wife, Lorna; brother-in-law, Edgar Kissman and extended family members and friends.
The family is grateful to his caregivers at Georgetown Living and from Resolution Hospice for the loving kindness and care given to Ervin over the last nine months.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
A funeral service will be held at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.
A reception and visitation with the family will follow the service in the Southwestern room at the funeral home.
