Obit: "Died on Thursday last, the 25th at his residence in Burlington, near the Brighton line, Mr. John O'Neil, in the 74th year of his age. He had no special disease but a giving away of nature. Mr. O'Neil was a native of the County of Cork, Ireland. He left Ireland in the year 1830, living in America about 3 to 4 years, when he returned to his native land. He remained one year and was married to Miss Anne Coffee of the same County. They then left in the year 1837 for America where he has since resided which makes about 38 years to 42 years. For the past 30 years he has resided in Burlington. He lived in Milwaukee a year or so. His wife, Anne died in September 1865 aged about 54 years. He leaves 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls, 4 live in this place and 1 in Iowa. The funeral took place from St. Mary's church on Friday last at 10 a.m. His remains were followed to the grave by a large concourse of sympathizing countrymen, 50 carriages being in the procession. We are indebted to Mr. Timothy Gleason of Dover for our information in regard to the death of Mr. O'Neil."
