Julia I. Kuerschner, 89, of Watertown, passed away Monday evening, September 30, 2013, at Marquardt Health Center in Watertown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 5th at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Watertown with Monsignor Daniel Ganshert presiding. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the Hafemeister Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:45 p.m. A visitation will also be at the church on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Memorials are suggested to Marquardt Health Center or to Marquardt Hospice.

Julia Irene Ready was born February 17, 1924, daughter of Thomas and Julia (McGrath) Ready. She was a graduate of Watertown High School. On September 1, 1945, Julia married Lester W. Kuerschner at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Richwood. Lester preceded her in death on December 12, 2003.
She had been employed as a secretary at Brandt Automatic Cashier in Watertown. She was also sexton for the St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery for over 35 years.
Julia was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and being around people.
Survivors include her children, a son, Lester T. (Sharon) Kuerschner of Lac Du Flambeau; two daughters, Kathleen (Tom) Kasten of Lake Mills; Gail (Wendell) Kuehl of Lebanon; her 10 grandchildren, Jon Kuerschner, Mike Kuerschner, Katie (Derek) Lindberg, Megan (Mike) Holz, Kara (Keith) Krausse, Amy (Seth) Hayden, Dan (Katie) Kuehl, Abby (Josh) Richert, Kevin (fiancé, Colette Swenson) Kuehl, Kyle Kuehl; 22 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Joe Ready and Norbert Ready, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Also preceding Julia in death were her parents; a sister, Carol Kreuziger-Burkett and a great granddaughter, Ruby Lindberg.
The family wishes to thank all of Julia’s friends and staff at Marquardt Health Center for their wonderful care.
