Martin C. Schmidtke, 73, of North Morristown died on Sunday, Dec. 20, 1992, at District One Hospital following an extended illness. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, North Morristown, with the Rev. Jeffrey M. Harter officiating.
Burial in Concordia Cemetery, North Morristown.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at the Gill-Boldt Funeral Home, Morristown, and at the church one hour prior to services.
The son of William H. and Louise Schultz Schmidke, he was born on March 5, 1919, in Morristown Township, rural Rice County. He married Agnes Gerzevske on May 14, 1941, in Trinity Lutheran Church, North Morristown. He was a life-long farmer in the North Morristown area.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes; six children, Arnold (and Diane) Schmidtke of Morristown, Dennis (and Jolene) Schmidtke of Albert Lea, Betty (and George) Fritz of Morristown, Clifford (and Lucille) Schmidtke of Morristown, Edward (and Beverly) Schmidke of Morristown, and Faye (and Steve) Golombeski of Morristown; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Serena Kokoschke of Morristown; and two brothers, Vernon and Roy Schmidtke, both of Morristown.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
