Lloyd E. Miller, 82, of Christiana, died of natural causes Tuesday at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. He retired in 1991 as a carpenter for the former James Umble Homebuilder in Honey Brook.
He was a member of the Patriotic Sons of America, Honey Brook, and Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church, Quarryville.
He Enjoyed square dancing, making crafts and gardening. For the last 24 years, he hosted the annual Miller Shindig in the Barn, a picnic for more than 200 people.
Born in Chester County, he was the son of the late Wilmer and Ida M. Segner Miller.
He was married 51 years to Sue A. Mowery Miller.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Dennis L. of Christiana and Mickey L., husband of Cindy Sheets Miller of Peach Bottom.; three daughters, Sandy Stumpf-Rineer, wife of Dave Rineer of New Providence, Theresa M. Winters of Quarryville and Cindy L., wife of Thomas Zimmerman of Willow Street; nine grandchildren; for great-grandchildren; four sisters, Betty Henderson and Frances Lutz, both of Glenmoore, Lillian Spotts and Emma White of Honey Brook; and four brothers, Wilmer, husband of Catherine Miller, and Galen, husband of Josephine Miller, both of Honey Brook, Charles, Husband of Helen Miller of Gordonville, and Vernon of New Holland.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Alvin and George; and two sisters, Marguerite Bingaman and Dorothy Barclay
