Dorothy A. Sokolowski Verin, 68, of Baldwinsville and Liverpool died Sunday at Pontiac Care and Rehabilitation Center, Oswego.
Born in Syracuse, she graduated from Liverpool High School in 1952. She attended state university colleges at Brockport and Alfred, and graduated from Syracuse University. She was a community service and Selective Service worker at Fort Drum. She also had been employed in community service by the state of New York, retiring in 1993. She was a member of Disabled American Veterans and a life member of the Liverpool American Legion.
She was past chair of the Town of Lysander Conservative Party. She was in the Navy Medical Corps during the Korean War.
Survivors: A daughter, Michele D. Yingst of Fulton; a sister, Marion Sokolowski Hulbert of Brewerton and Florida; a brother, Richard Sokolowski of Liverpool; two grandchildren. Services: 8:45 a.m. Thursday at Maurer Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. in Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Syracuse. Burial, Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 300 Second St., Liverpool. American Legion service, 7 p.m.
