Mary was born in Walter (now called Grechikhino), Volgograd, Russia. She came to Canada with her family in about 1913. She married George Robertus on Sep.2, 1917. They moved to Togo, SK and lived there for some time. Then they moved to a farm SE of Rhein. They had 8 children: Rheinhold, Jacob, Edward (Rosie Todoschuk), Margaret (Jacob Stricker), Martha (Emmanuel Pappenheim / Jacob Mehling), Esther (Lefebvre), Mary (Al Hintz), and Hilda (Gottfried Pfeifer).
