"Henry [sic] Temmelman died at his home at 514 south 5th street at 6:30 o'clock last evening with Bright's disease. He was at the time of his death about sixty-five years of age. He has been a great sufferer for several months. He leaves a wife and six children surviving him. Mr. Temmelman was a native of Germany, and came to this county in his younger days. He was one of the founders of St. Andrew's church, and has always taken a great interest in the affairs of the church. He was highly honored and respected by our German citizens, and none knew him but spoke well of him. He has long been an employ of Gaar, Scott & Co. His funeral will take place from St. Andrew's church on Saturday morning."

"The funeral of Harmon Temmelman took place from St. Andrews' church this morning at 8 o'clock, and was very largely attended. The men from Gaar, Scott & Co., honored his memory by attending his funeral in a body. He has been foreman of the cleaning room at Gaar, Scott & Co.'s for fifteen years and won the love and respect of his fellow workmen. They met at the shop this morning and marched by twos to his late home, and from there followed the remains to the church, and then marched in a body to the cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by Father Seibertz. The pall bearers were Henry Crival, Henry Fossgreen, Harmon Ortman, Albert Knabe, Joseph Werner and Henry Epping. Each of his fellow workmen carried a rose in his hand which they deposited in his coffin, nearly covering him with roses.

Mr. Temmelman was born in Margarten, Osnabruch, Germany, May 1st 1824, and came to this country 1844. He was married to Margaret Luttmer at St. Philamona church, Cincinnati, Oct. 4, 1849. He was the father of six children all of whom are living. They are, Mrs. Josephine Grapperhaus, Mrs. Lizzie Englebert, and Mrs. Francis Haner, and Joseph, Clara and Cora Temmelman.

He came to this city in 1854 and has lived here ever since. He was one of the first trustees of St. Andrew's church, and gave considerable towards its building. He was a constant and consistent member of the church. His remains are now at rest in the German Catholic Cemetery, but the memory of his fatherly love will for along time to come cause his children to reflect,

Darling papa, how we miss you!
Your sweet face we see no more.
How we long once more to kiss you,
But you have flown forevermore,
How you struggled to stay with us,
But death conquered you at last,
And we hope that we will meet you
In that heavenly home of rest."
