HELEN NOLTE
LIMA — Helen Louise "Lou" Nolte, 89, of Lima passed away at 9:45 AM on Monday, April 10, 2017 at St. Rita's Medical Center surrounded by her loving Family.
She was born on April 4, 1928 in Lima to Michael A. and Elizabeth (Murphy) Burke, who both preceded her in death. On October 18, 1952, she married Donald T. Nolte, Sr., who preceded her in death on December 9, 2002.
Lou was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and graduated from St. Rose Catholic High School. She was cafeteria volunteer at St. Rose Catholic School. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and watching late night old time movies. She loved sitting on her porch swing on Brice Ave, drinking coffee and enjoying all the neighborhood family and friends. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include 4 sons Donald T. (Rhonda) Nolte, Jr. of Parrish, FL., grandchildren Brendan (Donna) Nolte, Kevin (Kim) Nolte, Sarah (Derick) Lee; son Edward T. (Maria) Nolte of Lima, grandchildren Eric (Jenna) Nolte, Matt & Jared; son Mike G. Nolte of Bradenton, FL, grandchildren Michael, Crystal and Danielle (and mother Cindy); and son Thomas K. (Deb) Nolte of Cridersville, grandchildren Thomas and Jacob; her 4 daughters Rebecca L. (Thomas) Stephens of Lima, grandchildren Monica (Kevin) Bruin, Christina Austin, Jennifer and Victor; daughter Miriam M. Nolte of Englewood, FL; daughter Regina A. (James) Riepenhoff of Lima, grandchildren James, Dominic, and Hannah; and daughter Michelle L. (Vince) Harpest of Lima, grandchildren Brittany (Zachary) Daley, Shawn and Nicholas; her grandchildren Karl Jr. (Melissa) Nolte and Amanda Mueller (son and daughter of Karl M. Nolte and Ellie Hittle); grandchildren Brian (Candace) Nolte and Scott (Wendy) Nolte (sons of John C. Nolte and Kim Nolte-Ponce); granddaughter Marianna Ponce.
She was preceded in death by her sons Karl M. and John C. Nolte; her four brothers; her sister; her two great-grandchildren Lauren and Landon.
She expressed with great pride that her 10 children was her greatest accomplishment and the most precious gift from God. She often said to Don "Look at what we have Created". With that being said, she was also blessed with 29 Precious Great Grandchildren whom she dearly loved and adored.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at St. Rose Catholic Church, with Father David M. Ross, officiating. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, April 17, 2017 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, where a wake service will be held at 8:00 PM.
