Florence was born Oct. 5, 1926 in Saskatchewan, Canada to Marcellus and Ida Heisler, immigrating with her family to the United States at the age of 12. After graduating from Immaculata Academy in Portland, she continued her studies and received her LPN diploma from Providence School of Nursing.
Florence married Clyde Hering in 1950 and together they had three children. She eventually returned to nursing, working at Gresham Community Hospital and then Legacy Mt. Hood until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde and leaves behind her children, Anette Pilger, Marc Hering and Brian Hering; multiple grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and her sister, Bernice Maloney.
A funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m., Dec. 21, 2017, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 10029 N.E. Prescott, with a Committal Service following at 11:30 a.m., at Willamette National Cemetery.
