Doris Jane Loeffler, 82, of Joplin, MO formally of Baxter Springs, KS, passed from this life on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Spring River Christian Village surrounded by her family.
Doris was born December 31, 1935 in Baxter Springs, KS to the union of Albert and Alpha (Hendrix) Beets.
Doris graduated from Baxter Springs High School with the class of 1953.
Doris was united in marriage to Robert W. Cole. After becoming widowed, she later married Bill Loeffler who also precedes her in death.
Doris worked in food services for Missouri Southern State University and later worked at Amerisource in Joplin, MO.
Doris enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Doris was a member of the Hunters Glen Baptist Church in Plano, TX, before returning to the area.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Alpha Beets, husbands, Robert Cole, and Bill Loeffler; one brother, Jack Robinson.
Doris is survived by three sons, Terry Cole and wife Lorri of Joplin, MO, Mark Cole and wife Gelmis of Carl Junction, MO, and Steve Cole of Joplin, MO; three step sons, Larry Loeffler, Chris Loeffler, and Jeff Loeffler all of Texas; one sister, Evelyn Buckner of Baxter Springs, KS; six grandchildren, Ann Cole, Gracie Cole, Nathan Cole, Sarah Cole, Chloe Loeffler, Jack Loeffler, Cassie Siegert-Loeffler and one great-grandchild, Melody Payton Dawn Siegert-Loeffler.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Lowell Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital in care of the funeral home.
