Helen M. Ogden Havens, 91, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully Monday, January 15, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 2, 1926 in covington, KY to Clarence Deller and Anna (Simon)Deller. She married Charles J. Ogden on July 5, 1945 and he preceded her in death on April 13, 1986. She later married Dale Havens and he preceded her in death April 25, 2017. Mrs. Havens is survived by her children; Mike(Ann)Ogden, John Ogden, Terry(Brenda)Ogden, 4 step-children; grandchildren, Lori, Michelle, Chad, Andy, Amy, Josh, April, Shannon, Dustin, Emily; great-grandchildren, Rose, Isaac, Korvin, Kaysie, Mollie, Blayze, Tylir, Arya, Morgan, Lela, Lilly, McKenzie, Marie, William, Madison, Zion, Kayla, Matt, Nate, Devin, Danielle, Brianne; 19 step-grandchildren; and 5 step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and one son, David Ogden, who passed away July 12, 1980, daughter-in-law, Lisa Havens, and son-in-law, Reginald Eugene Thomas. She was an assistant case worker for the Shelby County Department of Welfare for 15 years, retiring July 15, 1988. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mrs. Havens was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary serving for 3 terms. She was a member of the Women of The Moose, Vestavia, St. Ann's Alter Society serving as president for 1 year, and a member of the St, Joseph Social Club. The Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Friday, January 19, followed by visitation from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 s. Harrison St., Shelbyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway, Shelbyville, with Father Mike Keucher officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Joseph Catholic School Building Fund in care of the church.
