Jack A. McMurtree, age 82, of Versailles, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. He was born February 17, 1935, in Higginsville, Missouri, a son of the late C.A. and Bessie (Booker) McMurtree.On May 20, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri, he was united in marriage to his surviving wife, Paulette (Lawrence) McMurtree.Jack worked as a cement mason for the Local 518 in Kansas City, Missouri for many years until his retirement.He loved to train and ride his horses and could often be seen riding them along Highway 5 near Versailles.In addition to his wife, Paulette, he is survived by his sons, Tim McMurtree and wife Jossette of Lancaster, New York and Lonnie McMurtree and wife Sherry of North Augusta, South Carolina; grandchildren, Gracie, Timmie, Michael, Kristen and Marissa and many friends.There are no services planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and car of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
