Leah D. Osterbur, 91, of Springfield, IL, formerly of Onarga, IL and Quincy, IL, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 at Concordia Village in Springfield. She was born April 11, 1926, in Watseka, IL to Floyd and Fern (Garner) McQueen. She was raised in Onarga, IL where she graduated from high school in 1944. Leah married Lewis B. Osterbur on December 22, 1946. After living in Onarga, and then Quincy, IL for 41 years, she and her husband moved to Concordia Village in 2011.
Leah was a faithful member of Vermont Street Methodist Church and sang in the choir for 39 years. She and her husband were avid golfers and enjoyed a longtime membership to Spring Lake Country Club in Quincy. Leah performed in over 35 Quincy Community Theater productions over the years. She was active in Quincy City Club, volunteered at Blessing Hospital, enjoyed playing bridge in many clubs during her life, and loved listening and dancing with Lew to the music of Big Bands.
Leah leaves behind her son, Randy (Ruth) Osterbur of Sunrise Beach, MO; two daughters, Cindy (Duane) Stock of Taylorville, IL and Pat (Hugh) Seelbach of Springfield, IL; eight grandchildren, Tim (Shelly Stock, Greg (Alonna) Stock, Alison Osterbur, Kara (Prakash) Jayabalan, Kyle Osterbur, Sheri (Matt) Stewart, Jill (Ryan) DeGeeter and Eric Seelbach; five great-grandchildren, Anya and Aiden Jayabalan, Jordan and Kayla Stewart, and Celina DeGeeter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lewis; one daughter, Marcia Jo; and two sisters.
Services are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, Springfield. The Osterbur family will greet family and friends from 9 am until the time of the funeral service at 10 am on Saturday, February 17, 2018 in the Chapel of Concordia Village, Springfield, IL. Rev. Dr. Wayne P. Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at 1 pm at the Onarga Cemetery in Onarga, IL.
