Betty loved to make quilts for her family and friends. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, cooking, canning, and doing arts and crafts. She was in a bowling league with Emil and had coached Annette’s softball team. Betty loved watching the Astros play, but her greatest love was every moment spent with her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Emil Pampell, of Richmond, Texas; son, James Pampell of Cypress, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Annette & Neal Davis of Houston, Texas; granddaughters, Kelli Braunagel and Taylor Pampell; grandson, Bryce Pampell; and numerous other loving family members.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Jo Pampell; by her parents, Joe Matejcek & Antonia “Tony” Plasek Matejcek; and by her sister, Alice Marie Lynch.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Schmidt Funeral Home East Avenue Chapel in Katy. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Memorial Lutheran Church, in Katy, with Rev. John F. Davis Jr. officiating. Interment in Katy Magnolia Cemetery.
In lieu of usual remembrances, the family requests memorial gifts be made to Memorial Lutheran Church, 5610 Third Street, Katy, Texas 77493.
