Elizabeth Victoria (Godek) Zyla, 89, lifelong resident of New Britain, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late Casimer Zyla whom she married on May 5, 1951. Elizabeth was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church and a member of its Ladies Guild and worked as a timekeeper for Emhart Corp. for many years. Left to mourn her passing is her daughter, Nancy Wiseman and her husband, John; her three granddaughters and their spouses: Elizabeth Wiseman and Brenden Smith, Patricia and Jim Folino and Diana and Michael Freiberger; her great-granddaughter Zoe Wiseman Smith; her nephews and nieces: Gary Zyla, Jack and Sandy Koslosky, Mark Godek, Claudia Arsinos and Lori Godek as well as many wonderful friends at the New Britain Senior Center and the Marian Heights Community. Elizabeth was predeceased by her brother, Edward Godek.
She was laid to rest beside her husband in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.
