Katharina Maria was the first Moeckel of our line to be born in the United States and she was born about 9:00 A.M. Her parents came to Waterloo Township, Jackson County, Michigan, in 1842 directly from Germany.
As a child she lived on a farm next to Michael Riethmiller on the 1850 Census, for Waterloo, Jackson, Michigan, USA. She married Michael Riethmiller's nephew, J. Gottlieb Heydlauff on 14 Jan 1866.
