Donald Albert "Abe" Wright, 89, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 pm Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Charles Mays and R.W. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, with Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 conducting military graveside rites. He was born December 2, 1928 in McMechen, WV a son of the late Clarence William and Esther Johanna Kettlewell Wright. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. Wright; a grandson, Zachary Preston Bonner; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence W. "Bones" (Mary Louise) Wright and Harry (Louise) Wright. He was raised in Glen Easton, WV; graduated from Cameron High School; and graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry. Abe was a retired Assistant Plant Manager for Union Carbide and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a member of Beverly Hills United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 18 of Cameron. Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki Wright Bonner and Dr. Daniel P. Bonner of Inwood, WV and Kathryn Wright Miller and Mike Miller of Washington, WV; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald M. "Mike" Wright and Dora Lou Chapman Wright of Huntington and James E. "Jimmy" Wright and Aimee Saito of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren, Nicole Bonner, Wes (Mandy) Wright, Candice Wright ( Zach) Riggleman, Sam Smith, Jason Miller, Cameron Glen Wright, and Alex Wright; seven great grandchildren, Alexus Bonner, Brycen Wright, Jacqueline Ruth Riggleman, Liam Palmer, Deacon Palmer, Deamonte Lindsay, and R. J. Scott; special friend, Mary Lou Kinsey; special friend, neighbor and caregiver of which the family is very greatful, Fred Neal; many nieces, nephews, and special friends; and his dog Sport. Donations would be appreciated to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Chapman's Mortuary.
