Michael F. Myszka, 91, 1010 E. Wausau Ave., Wausau, died Monday, Aug. 9, 1999, at Comfort Care and Hospice Services, Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
He was born May 27, 1908, in the town of Rietbrock, son of the late John and Rose (Gesicki) Myszka. On Oct 12, 1931, he married Frances Soczka, who preceded him in death on Nov. 16, 1976.
He was a devoted member of St. Michael's Parish, Wausau, and a life member of the Third Degree Knights of Columbus George Schreier Council No. 1069, Wausau. He retired from the 3M Company in 1973. Mike enjoyed dancing, refinishing furniture, and cooking Friday night fish frys at the Wausau K.C. Club. He had a great sense of humor and was loved by all who knew him.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy (William) Johnson, Madison; a son, David (Mary) Myszka, Wausau; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Theresa Dombeck, and her family, Arlene (Don) Buchberger and their children and grandchild, all who were very close to him.
Other survivors include two brothers, Raymond (Josephine) Myszka, Wausau, and Walter Myszka, California; two sisters, Lucille (Herb) Zastrow and Mary (Lester) Schultz, both of Wausau. Three brothers, one sister, one half-sister and half-brother also preceded him in death.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. The Very Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at the church. Peterson Funeral Home and Crematory, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed the Hospice program at Wausau Hospital or to St Michael Parish, Wausau.
