Judy Ann Mielke, 76, of Munger, died unexpectedly, Sunday, February 18, 2018 in Reese, while attending church services. She was born June 6, 1941 in Merritt Township, Bay County, daughter of the late Simon and Katherine (Tilger) Kappel. She lived her entire life in Munger and attended Arn’s Station School. She was 1959 graduate of Reese High School. On November 24, 1962 she was married to Heinz M. Mielke in Saginaw. He predeceased her in 1999. Judy retired from Michigan Bell after more than thirty years of service. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Reese and enjoyed shopping, sunflowers, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed visits with her friends, retiree luncheons, trips to Oscoda to visit her school teacher, doing large puzzles, reading, and family get-togethers.



Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Susan Mielke of Frankentrost; four grandchildren; Caroline Mielke, Elizabeth Mielke, Trevor Mielke and Julia Mielke, and her four sisters; Katherine Rohn of Millington; Joan Laux and her husband Eugene of Frankenmuth; Donna Zeilinger of Reese and Nora Matonek and her husband Robert of Reese and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Heinz, Judy was predeceased by two brothers-in-law; Raymond Rohn and James Zeilinger.

Funeral Services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 from the Christ Lutheran Church in Reese. Rev. Dr. Ed Kloos will officiate with burial to take place next to her parents in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Reese. Judy’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St in Reese on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of the services.
