Allie Mae “Sally” Lockhart, 83, of North Judson, IN, formerly of Robinson, IL, died at 8:56 a.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the LaPorte Hospital in LaPorte, IN.

She was born January 14, 1935, the daughter of Samuel Ellis & Goldie (Creed) Ellis. She married Russell Dean Lockhart on February 16, 1955, and he preceded her in death on January 18, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her brother, George Ellis; by her daughter, Susie Ellis in infancy; and by her son, Eddie Dean Lockhart.

She is survived by her daughters & her son-in-law, Jeanette L. Junior Myers (Robinson, IL), and Judy Lynn Ochs (Knox, IN); by her son & daughter-in-law, James A. & Zina Lockhart (Robinson, IL); by her step-daughters, Pam King and Deanna Jean Bachelor; by her grandchildren, Joshua Budds (Robinson, IL), Lacey Myers (Robinson, IL), Joe Daniel Davis (Robinson, IL), Cricket Davis (Mt. Carmel, IL), Amelita Shanes (Robinson, IL), Allen & Katrina Lockhart (Robinson, IL), Merrill & Jennifer Chaplin (Olney, IL), Jenny Armentrout (Paris, IL), Jeremy & Corinne Ochs (Lafayette, IN), Jacob Ochs & Shianna Miller (Terre Haute, IN), Logan Ochs (Knox, IN), Katelyn Ochs (Indianapolis, IN), and Lukas Ochs (Terre Haute, IN); by 22 great-grandchildren; by her brother, John Ellis; by her good friend, Jenny Cox; as well as several extended family members and friends.

Though she will be remembered for her love of garage sales and of old John Wayne movies, anyone who knew Allie could affirm that her heart beat for others. She was first and foremost a caregiver, and this served her family well over the course of her 83 years. She loved being a homemaker and was often found outside tending to her garden at home. She was also a longtime member of the Robinson V.F.W. Post #4549 Ladies Auxiliary and of New Hope Baptist Church in Robinson.

It was Allie’s wish to be cremated, with Goodwine Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.

Her family will be in charge of a memorial service being held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21st at the Crawford County Christian Center (4Cs) at 211 E. Main Street in Robinson.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. immediately prior to the service at the church.
