Thelma Louise Bowman Schmidt, 88, went home to her Lord on April 12, 2018.
She was born August 11, 1929 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas to Mary Ivey and Benjamin Kissee.

She and her family moved to Kansas City in 1943. She graduated from Southeast High School in 1948. She was an usherette, a professional singer, and a model, before marrying John Gilbert Bowman, and becoming a mother to 4 children, Karen Elaine Bowman Baughman (Michael), Marita Louise Bowman Mitchell (Pamela), Steven Gilbert Bowman (Alice), and Glenda Lucille Bowman Hamer (Edward).

After her children entered school, she worked for the Katz Drug Co., later known as Skaggs, Osco and finally, CVS. She retired after 30 years of service, often named Employee of the Year.

She married John Schmidt in 1973, and they enjoyed 22 years of marriage before his passing.

Her greatest sorrow was losing her son, Steven, in 2013, and her daughter Karen, in 2017.

She is survived by her daughters Marita and Glenda, her 5 grandchildren, and her great-grandson.
