Albert Cyril Viktor was born July 7, 1927, in Havelock, Iowa. He was the son of Frank and Mae (Stoulil) Viktor. He attended the Sacred Heart Catholic School for several years and went on to graduate from Pocahontas High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Army – Air Force from 1945 – 1946 during WW II.

On September 18, 1950, Bert married Charlene “Sharky” Wainwright at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Pocahontas. The couple settled in Pocahontas. Bert worked for Peterson’s Skelly where he delivered fuel oil and pumped gas. In the early 1960’s he worked at Farm and Home in Pocahontas until October of 1972 when he began working for the Pocahontas Community Hospital in the maintenance department, retiring in 1992. Bert also worked part-time for Powers Funeral Home for many years. Sharky passed away in May of 2017.

Bert was a member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He served on the Pocahontas Fire Department for 33 years. He enjoyed doing woodworking projects.

Survivors include his children, Kent Viktor of Pocahontas, Kelly (Maria) Viktor of Hanover Park, IL, Scott Viktor of Ft. Collins, CO and Annette (Vince Jimenez) Viktor of Commerce, GA; eight grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and sister, Henrietta Deal of Fort Dodge.

Bert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharky and twin brother, Alfred.
