Maul, Jacob “Jack” of Saginaw, Michigan

Our treasured and cherished father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, November 04, 2015. He was 90 years old.

Jacob Maul was born on September 2, 1925 in Reese, Michigan to the late David and Charlotte (Schadt) Maul. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from April 11, 1944 until his honorable discharge on May 6, 1946. Jack married the love of his life, Joyce Rae Flora on May 8, 1948; she preceded him in death on December 1, 2002. Jack was employed by Consumers Energy as a supervisor; retiring in July 1987 with over 40 years of service. He worked hard his entire life. Jack was proud he built his own home, as well as assisted his brothers in building their own. He also enjoyed landscaping his own yard and landscaping with his brothers. Jack was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church and American Legion Post #439. He was a selfless, dependable and loyal man, always willing step in or lend a helping hand to whomever whenever needed. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his friends at the donut shop. Above everything, he loved and was devoted to his family and friend. He will forever be remembered for his kind gentle soul, bright blue eyes, and warm smile.

Surviving are a daughter, Jill Hill of Saginaw; a son, James Maul of Saginaw; four grandchildren: Jody Ogram of Saginaw, Stephanie Hill her friend Andy Watrous of Saginaw, Christine Maul of Saginaw, and Jacob Maul and fiancée Megan Roberts of Hemlock; two great-grandchildren: Jack Clement and Noah Hill; a brother, John (Joanne) Maul of Florida. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by a son Jack Maul, a grandson, Justin Hill; two brothers; and six sisters.

FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 2525 Hemmeter Rd. Rev. Jeff Bonn will officiate. Military Honors and burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the auspices of the United States Navy and American Legion Post #439.


VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday, November 6, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. He will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.


MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Our Saviour Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the funeral home, church or through www.deislerfuneralhome.com.
