Born in Boston on Aug. 29, 1916, Mr. Piasecki was the son of the late Bronislaw and Valerya (Borkowski) Piasecki.
He worked as a skilled machinist for the SW Card Company, Cleveland Twist Drill Company and Bay State Tap and Die, which were all former companies of Mansfield. Mr. Piasecki was the co-owner of the former Hilo Café in Mansfield and he also worked at his Dad’s shop, the BJ Piasecki Machine Shop.
Mr. Piasecki was a skilled woodworker and a musician who enjoyed playing the guitar. He was also a very active participant in Mansfield sports for many years.
Mr. Piasecki was a longtime member of the Mansfield Gridiron Club. He was voted the Mansfield High School football team’s number one fan and traveled on the team bus to all away games. Mr. Piasecki was invited to team functions and received championship rings and team jackets.
Mr. Piasecki is survived by his three children: David Piasecki and his wife Ruth of Lakeville, William Piasecki and his wife Kathleen of Attleboro, and Sandra Lannon and her husband George of Lakeland, Fla.; his 11 grandchildren: Kris, Laurie, Jamie, Tracy, Erin, Michael, Jennifer, Tobi, Mark, Marcy and William; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was also the brother of Stasia Taffet of Florida, Joseph Piasecki of Lakeville and the late Stephen, Michael, John, Alice and Irene.
His funeral will be Friday, June 15 at 8 a.m. from the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 North Main St., Mansfield, followed at 9 a.m. by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St., (Route 106) Mansfield. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Visiting hours are Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
