Raymond Eugene Krenzke was born on February 17, 1943, to Edward Julius and Catherine Lavern (née Undorf) Krenzke in Racine, Wisconsin. Ray passed away in his sleep on January 17, 2018, at Mullen Home, an assisted living and nursing care facility in Denver, Colorado. He was exactly one month short of his 75th birthday.

Ray graduated from Dominican College in Racine, WI, in 1965. He earned a Master of Arts in Theatre at St. Louis University in 1966 and completed postgraduate work at Northwestern University in 1969.

He was a public school teacher in Evanston, IL, from 1969-1971. From 1971-1973, Ray was the technical director of theatre at Ashland College in Ohio. He then was the costume designer at the Savoy Opera Company in Cleveland from 1973-1974. In 1974-1975, Ray worked at the Chauffer Johnson Foundation in Racine, WI. From 1975-1977, Ray was the owner of Bread Sales Bakery & Catering. He was then the general manager of the Racine Symphony Orchestra from 1977-1980 and the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra in Johnstown, PA, from 1980-1981. Ray was a freelance theatre director in Racine from 1981-1983.

In 1983, Ray moved to California and was the manager of a private estate in Pebble Beach. He lived in other California cities before moving to Denver, CO, a few years ago.

Ray was the President of the Region 8 American Theatre Conference, Illinois and Wisconsin, in 1970-1971. He was the parish council president at St. Marys Church in Racine from 1976-1977. Ray also authored numerous plays and was a composer, writer, artist, and volunteer.

Ray was predeceased by his father Edward (1903 - 1988), his mother Catherine (1903 - 1994), and his brother, Thomas Krenzke (1936-2009).

Survivors include Ray's older brothers, Fr. John Knenzke of Denver, CO, and Mark Krenzke of Nenana, Alaska. Ray was also survived by other family members and friends.
