George John Schwerdt Sr, died Saturday at the home of a daughter, 124 Quincy. He was born March 28, 1865 in Kamenka, Russia, came to the United States in 1889 and has been a resident of Topeka since 1902.
He was a retired carpenter and a member of the St. Joseph Church.
Survivors include four sons, George Jr., John and William, all of Topeka, and Joseph of Chicago; four daughters, Mrs. Matilda Hefner, Mrs. John Kaberline, Mrs. Joseph Geist, and Mrs. Edmund Shreiner, all of Topeka; 39 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
