Graveside services in tribute to his life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21st, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Dr. John Calio officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from Noon to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the Schilling Funeral Home.
Rex was born November 16, 1922, in Beattie, Kansas, a son of George Carl and Minnie (Wahlen) Oehm. He married Susan B. Grantham on June 23, 1984.
Survivors include his loving wife, Susan Oehm of Mattoon; three sons, Jim Oehm and wife Teri of Omaha, Nebraska, John Oehm of Witchita, Kansas, and Randy Oehm and wife Lynne of St. Louis, Missouri; three daughters, Kathy Milius and husband Dwayne and Beth Baete and husband Mike, all of Beatrice, Nebraska, and Jennifer Oehm of Pace, Florida; three stepsons, Mike McNeil and wife Yvonne of Casey, Jeff McNeil of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Glen McNeil and wife Monica of Casey; twenty five grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Rex is also survived by two brothers, Ron Oehm of Apache Junction, Arizona and Gary Oehm and wife Leslie of Thomasville, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Oehm was formerly employed with Rexall Drugs in St. Louis, Missouri and retired in 1995 from Dean Drug Sundries of North Kansas City, Missouri. Rex was a member of the Bon Terre Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, Missouri, and he was an avid Nebraska football fan.
Memorial gifts in his honor are suggested to the Y.M.C.A. for Children's Programs.
