MIDLAND (Staff) - A verdict of self-inflicted gunshot wound has been returned in the death of a 41-year-old Midland woman, whose body was found about 2 p.m. Thursday in the bathroom of her home. Midland police detecitives said Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hull was found by a 20-year-old son, Rick Patton, a U.S. Marine stationed in Okinawa. He was home on leave. She had been shot once in the chest with a .38 caliber pistol. Police said they found the gun by her side. A note was also found. Justice of the peace Robert Pine returned the selfinflicted gunshot wound verdict Thursday afternoon. Services for Mrs. Hull will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Oaklawn Baptist Church. Entombment will be in Valhalla Masoleum under direction of Newnie W. Ellis Funeral Home. Born May 3, 1933, in East Prairie, Mo., she moved to Alice when she was 16. She moved to Midland in December, 1964, after marrying Walter L. (Salty) Hull Dec. 25, 1964, in Corpus Christi . She was formerly employed by Permian Corp., Drilco, The First National Bank of Midland and Midland National Bank. She was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband; another son David L. Patton of the U.S. Marines in El Toro, Calif.; a stepson, Patrick R. Hull of California; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Kathryn Lee of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Sharon Hull of Austin; her mother, Mrs. Maude E. Storey of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; three brothers, James C. Porter of Polar Bluff, Mo., Curtis Porter of Kingsville and Stanley Cartwright (corrected) of Missouri; a sister, Mrs. Pearl (corrected) McDowell of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; and a grandchild.
