Ruth Elizabeth Miller, age 76 years, of Monaghan Township, York County, Pa. was the daughter of the late Clair and Mary (Basehore) Hopple. She was an integral part of the daily operation of Miller's Orchard, in which she and her husband, R. Wayne Miller, Jr. owned and operated. She was a graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, Class of 1948; was a member of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church, Mechanicsburg; the Monaghan Township Fire Company, as well as the Ladies Auxillary. Ruth enjoyed her daily activities working in the orchard especially mowing the grass, horseback riding and sewing. However her greatest enjoyment came from spending time and participating in the activities of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruth was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grand mother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.
Ruth is preceded in death by her brother, Clair Hopple.
Surviving are her husband, R. Wayne Miller, Jr.; a son G. Ronald Miller and his wife, Karen; 4 daughters, Joanne Augistine, all of Lewisberry. Ruth Ann and her husband, Steven Knaub of Dillsburg, Joyce and her husband, Michanl Phillips of Mechanicsburg, and Nancy Plitt of Grantham; a brother, Paul Hopple of Oregon; 10 grnadchildren, Steven Knaub, Jared and Jamie Miller, Michael, Courtney, and Bobby Phillips, Billie Jo and Anthony Augustine, Jesica and Brandon Plitt; and 2 great-grnadchildren, Kyle Miller and Gracie Mae Knaub.
Funeral Servces were held at Trindle Spring Lutheran Church, with burial at the church cemetery.
