Born December 18, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah to David Oscar and Agnes Sylvester Kirk. Married George L. Carey November 13, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Graduated from the University of Utah in education. She was affiliated with Kappa Kappa Gamma at the U of U. She is a member of the Utah Watercolor Society. She worked at Baxter Army Hospital in Spokane, Washington, Bushnell Hospital in Brigham City, Utah and Letterman Hospital at the Presidio in San Francisco, California. She also worked at the Salt Lake VA Hospital and Wasatch Villa Nursing Home. Member of the LDS Church and served in many positions in the Primary auxillary. She was an accomplished artist, loved to travel and was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was loved by everyone who knew her.She is survived by her husband; son, Kirk Carey and wife, Robin; daughter, Tamara Maher and husband Judd; six grandchildren, Corinne, Lauren, Angie, Elliott, Rachel and Erin. She also leaves some special cousins, Horace Snyder, Althea McNeil, Robert Sylvester, and many others.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 12 noon, April 4, 1995 at the Valley View 5th Ward, 2125 East Evergreen Ave. (3500 So). Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the Ward from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
