Evelyn Esther Lorei, 84 passed away on June 18, 2018 at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.
A Parish Vigil Service followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary will begin at 3:15 p.m. on June 19, 2018 at Murdoch Funeral Home in Marion. Visitation for family and friends following the Rosary from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10;30 A.M. ON June 20 AT ST JOSEPH catholic Church in Marion. Family to greet friend one hour prior to Mass on Wed. at the church. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Evelyn was born Oct. 21, 1933 in Erie, Pa, the daughter of Michael and Valeria (Kalicka) Lukasiewicz. On May 11, 1957 in the St Casimir Catholic Church in Erie, Pa she married John Albert Lorei. Evelyn received her nursing degree from St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing and served for 15 years at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
She was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church and sang in the choir of 56 years. She was a member of Marion Musical Literary Club and the Concert Chorale
Evelyn is survived by had husband of 61 years, John A. Lorei of Marion, six children, Deborah A. (Rhett) Spivey of Hitchcock, TX John M Lorei of Kansas City, KS, Michelle A. (Larry) Anthis of San Antonio, TX, Lisa L. (Tim) Lanai of Franklin, TN, Gregory S. (Kim) Lorei of Trophy Club, tx and Cynthia M. Tindal of Williamsburg, IA, 16 grandchildren and a sister Dolores Vollmer of Erie, PA
