Brandon Renee Houston Sutton, 22, of Los Angeles, Calif., formerly of Arnold, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born Jan. 11, 1983, in New Kensington, lived in the area most of his life and had been a resident of Los Angeles for the past two years. Brandon was a 2001 graduate of Summit Academy, Butler, where he was a PIAA Class AA state qualifier in the 4x400 relay, taking seventh place. He earned a full Governor's Board Scholarship to California University of Pennsylvania. He served in the Marine Corps and was squad leader of his platoon and lay reader of daily devotions. He was a sales manager in California. Brandon volunteered at the H. John Heinz III Veterans Hospital in Aspinwall and was a barber for Hope Outreach, Los Angeles, where he cut hair for the homeless on a monthly basis. Survivors include his mother, Odette K. Houston Armel, of Arnold; fathers, the Rev. David R. (Robin) Sutton, of Penn Hills, and Lawrence W. Cheatham, of New Kensington; sisters, Alexzandrea Lee Sutton and Christa Joa' Sutton, of Arnold, and Amanda Cheatham, of Penn Hills; brother, Aaron Cheatham, of Penn Hills; maternal grandmother, Cora L. Houston, of New Kensington; paternal grandmothers, Loretta L. Sutton, of Pittsburgh, and Dolores Fuquay, of Arnold; a host of uncles and aunts including Eric R.(Yolanda) Houston, of California, Derek M. Sutton, of Maryland, and Jackie D. Houston. of New Kensington, and fiancee, Aleisha Wright, of California. He was preceded in death by infant sister Aprel Jade' Sutton, maternal grandfather George H. Houston and paternal grandfather Dr. Edward M. Sutton. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME, LTD., New Kensington. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 1150 Fourth Ave., New Kensington, with the Rev. Dr. Mitchel A. Nickols of Bibleway Christian Fellowship, New Kensington, officiating. Everyone please meet at the church. Burial will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
