He passed away June 24th at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.

Paul Adolf Otte was born May 13, 1937, in Leigh, NE to Karl F. and Minna R. (Otte) Otte.

His family moved to Wayne when Paul was one year old. He graduated from Wayne High School in 1955 and served in the United States Air Force from June 1955 until February 1959.

He began working with his father and brothers, Kurt and Karl, at Otte Construction Company.

Paul married Virginia “Ginny” Haberer April 7, 1959, in Yankton, SD.

Paul retired from the company in 1997. He worked at Pac N Save for six years. He spent the rest of his retirement driving a grain truck at harvest time for Don Larsen, delivering Pioneer Seed for Bob Liska, driving cars for Arnie’s Ford, and delivering Meals on Wheels.

Paul was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Vets Club, and Greenwood Cemetery. He was named Citizen of the Year in 1987 and elected into WSC Athletic Hall of Fame in 1993.

Paul gifted his body to the Anatomical Board.

Paul is survived by his wife, Ginny; their daughter, Tracy (Doug) Pierson of Wayne; two granddaughters, Meg Pierson of New York, NY and Jillian Pierson of Wayne; brothers, Heinz (Barbara) Otte of Mendota Heights, MN and Allen (Annette) Otte of Minneapolis, MN; brother-in-law, John Moje of Arvada, CO; sister-in-law, Bonnie Otte of Wayne; nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis in 1980; brothers, Karl W. (Ardath) Otte and Kurt Otte; sisters, Irmgard (Albert) Morlok and Elaine Moje.
