Mary "Thomasine" (Eustace) Toohig, 78, of Mayfield Village, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, at home.
Born Nov. 30, 1921, in Oil City, Pa., she had lived in Lyndhurst before moving to Mayfield Village six years ago. She was a member of Eastside Irish American Club and Ancient Order of Hibernians. Mrs. Toohig was employed by East Cleveland City Schools and, most recently, by Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Wickliffe as a school nurse, retiring in 1992.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas (fiancee, Susan Rego) of Parma and Terrance (Susan) of Willowick; daughters, Mary Haluazka of Lyndhurst, Joanne (Edward) Bokovitz and Loretta (Kenneth) Quinn, both of Highland Heights; daughter-in-law, Casey Toohig; sisters, Sr. Jerome, O.S.B. of Erie, Pa., and Judy (Bernie) Matis of Pittsburgh, Pa.; brothers, John (Helen) Eustace of Lyndhurst, Michael (Rose) Eustace of Mayfield Heights and Thomas Eustace of Cleveland; aunt, Mary Gidders of Oil City; sisters-in-law, Bernadine Toohig and Stella Eustace; 18 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; son, Paul; parents, Dorothy (Gidders) and Michael Eustace; and brother, James Eustace.
Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Philomena Catholic Church, 13824 Euclid Ave., East Cleveland. The Rev. Dennis Kleinweber will officiate.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland.
