Mr Weaver was a coach and taught social studies and business in New Haven and Roanoke. He had also served as director of the Allen County Recreation Department from 1949 to 1953; junior high camping director for the Church of the Brethren in Elgin, Ill; principal of Hillcrest School in Nigeria from 1961 to 1967; and principal of Gifford Elementary School, Elgin, Ill, from 1967 until retiring in 1984.
He had also called square dances for several years. He was a member of the North Manchester Kiwanis Club, North Manchester Historical Society, Wabash County Retired Teachers Association, the Timbercrest Retirement Community Choir, and the Church of the Brethren in both North Manchester and Sebring, Fla.
He was a 1935 graduate of Wakarusa High School, earned a bachelor's degree from Manchester College in 1939, and earned a master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 1948.
He was born May 16, 1918 in Wakarusa to T G and Nina Metzler Weaver.
He married 1947; his wife survives.
Additional survivors include a son, a daughter, a brother, two sisters and four grandchildren.
