Christa Maria Jessen Frahm, 85, of Springville, passed away June 25, 2018 from conditions due to age. She was born November 27, 1932 in Mildstedt, Germany to Christina Frahm Jessen and Wilhelm Peter Jessen. She was a child during World War II and knew the pain and deprivations of that time. Following the war, kind neighbors shared relief supplies provided by the LDS church. As a result, she was introduced to the church’s teachings and became a devoted convert. At church, she fell in love with Thomas Frahm. They decided to marry but wanted to do so in the Salt Lake Temple. They overcame physical barriers, language barriers, and cultural barriers to immigrate to Utah. They were married September 14, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Christa and Thomas settled in Springville where they raised six children: Beverly, David (Wendy Christensen), Stephen (Linda Semon), Monica (Dallas Brewer), Nancy (Brian Rawlings), and Scott (Becky Lebaron). She has 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Christa was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, her daughter Beverly, her parents and siblings Elke and Uwe.

Christa lived a life of service, whether as a neighbor, a caregiver, in church callings, as a temple worker, as a volunteer at the Mission Training Center, or as the self-designated greeter at the Charleston assisted living facility. Her warm smile and friendly “ja hello” cheered all who met her.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. July 6, 2018 at Hobble Creek West Stake Center, located at 555 South 600 East in Springville. A viewing will be held Thursday July 5, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, located at 211 East 200 South, Springville and Friday at the church 1 hour prior to the services. Interment in the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville. Condolences may be sent via http://wheelermortuaries.com.
