Rachel Brumleve of Mattoon Dies; Area People Attend Funeral
Mrs. Sylvester Brumleve of Mattoon died at 11:05 pm at a hospital after an illness of about two weeks. Mrs. Brumleve had been feeling fine until about two weeks ago when she became ill at her home, and a week later was taken to a hospital where she died.
Death is believed to have been caused by pneumonia.

Mrs Brumleve who is the former Rachel Kelly was born April 11, 1907 in Dieterich and is the daughter of the late Tom Kelly and Caroline Westendorf. About 25 years ago she was married to Sylvester Brumleve and they owned and operated a Taylor Shop is Mattoon for many years.

Surviving are her husband, two sons, Thomas 22 of Camp Pendelton, Calif, and Kenneth, 9, at home, three daughters, Mrs. Lela Parker, 20 of Indianapolis, Mrs. Rita Rinehart, 18, of Rolla Mo., and Sylvia, 12 at home, stepfather Joe Bushue of Elliottstown a sister, Mrs. Florence Croft and a half brother, Everett Bushue both of Montrose, and one grandson, Gregory Parker of Indianapolis. Also surviving are aunts, Mrs. Anna Dust of Bishop, Mrs. Mary Verdeyen of Gary, Indiana, and Mr. Barney Pruemer of Teutopolis, and an uncle Gust Westendorf of Washington.

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday in the Immaculate Conception Church, Mattoon with burial following in Calvary cemetery.

Many relatives and friends from, this area attended the funeral. Among them were Mrs. Anna Dust, Mr. and Mrs, Ferd Goeckner and daughters Anna Mae and Marilyn, Mr.
And Mrs Allie Repking, Mrs Ferd Dust of Valparaiso, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pruemer, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pruemer, Mrs. George Pruemer, Mrs. Bernard Krone and Mr and Mrs. Allie Thoele of Teutopolis, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Niendiek and daughter, Joan of Dieterich, and Mrs. Arthur Flack, Mrs. Erban Hartke, and Chris Nosbisch of Montrose.
